Encouraging movement through educational design.

As part of Copenhagen Municipality’s cycling initiative, this project aimed to motivate more students in grades 5-9 to choose the bike as everyday transport.

We developed a series of subject-integrated teaching materials, including maps, stories, illustrations, and photographs tailored to the age group. The project consisted of a series of educational maps covering subjects such as science, geography, and history – all through the lens of cycling and exploration.

The maps provided direct route suggestions and engaging stories tailored to the target audience.

The design process involved concept development, research, layout, illustration, map design, and photography. Each card suggested local routes and presented them as engaging narratives rooted in the urban landscape.
